Theses six noble gases are found in group 18 of the periodic table. These elements were considered to be inert gases until the 1960's, because their oxidation number of 0 prevents the noble gases from forming compunds readily. All of these gases have the greatest number of electrons possible in their outer energy lever, (2 for Helium, 8 for the rest) making them stable and for the most part, unreactive. March 1, 2004: The funniest thing in the world, I swear. If I remember correctly, this website was an eighth grade science project on the Noble Gases. So years later, I'm going through the guestbook and I can't beleive how many people actually visit this site and sign the guestbook. Wow. All of us are in high school so it's been ages, but I just thought it was kinda cute how some people thought we did this site in our spare time. Tehe. How funny! Yup. Enjoy the site! -Christina |
