| INTRODUCTION
"Get thee out of thy country, and out of thy birthplace, and out of thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee."(Genesis, XII, 1).So said the lord to Abraham and the Land of Israel (mentioned in the text as Canaan) became home to the first monotheist and first Jew, and homeland for his children-the Jewish People. More or less from that point on Jews had to fight to keep their homeland. Sometimes we were driven off, some harsh times forced us to leave, but we always cameback to our homeland when it was even slightly possible. Abraham's emigration to Israel was made 5000 years ago, and since than young Jews gave their life to keep their land and homes. The last episode of this campaign is the State of Israel. After finally given independence by the UN, Israel had to fight 5 wars and endless skirmishes to survive.
