CREATING THE  BASIC TAG

Step 1

Open the Blush Scrap Kit, your  tube image of choice and a new transparent image 550 by 550.

Step 2

At your Blush Scrap Kit, locate the lace border and left click on it.  Go to Edit/Copy.  Make the transparent image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Left click the mover tool and move the lace graphic to the top of the tag.

Step 3

Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the duplicate lace border to the bottom of the tag.

Step 4

Go to Layers/Duplicate and Image/Rotate/Free/90 degrees/Left.  With the mover tool, assemble the top, bottom and side lace borders.  You will notice that the rotated lace border is just a bit too large to fit  nicely in between the top and bottom borders.  What we need to do is go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 99%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Left click the mover tool, and fit this piece in between the top and bottom lace borders.

Step 5

Go to Layers/Duplicate.  Left click the mover tool and move the duplicate rotated lace border to the right side of the tag.  Now, assemble all the pieces together, so they make a square frame. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 6

Left click the magic wand and use the settings from above.  Go to Selections/Modify/ Expand 5 and go to Layers/New Raster Layer.

Step 7

At the Blush Scrap Kit, left click on the striped paper.  Go to Edit/Copy.   Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste into Selection. Go to Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom and go to Selections/Select None.  Your paper selection should now fit under the lace border.

Step 8

Open up your layer palette and make sure you are on the top layer. Left click the selection tool, set it to rectangle, and draw a rectangle on the top layer of the tag.

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer.

Step 9

At the Blush scrap kit, make the polka dot paper active and copy and paste into Selection.  Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 10

Let's decorate by framing the polka dot image.  At the Blush Scrap kit, select the fibers.  This time copy and paste the fiber layer as a new image.  The reason is because there are two different fibers and we only want to select one of them.  Left click the selection tool and draw a rectangle around the fiber color you want to use.  Go to Edit/Copy and Edit/Paste as New Image.

Step 11

Left click your new fiber image and go to Edit/Copy.  Make your tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Let's start with the top portion of the polka dot image.

You will see that the fiber image is much too long to frame the polka dot image.  What you will need to do is trim the fiber image.  To do that, left click the selection tool, and draw a selection around the area you do not need.  Move the fiber to the top of the polka dot image so you can determine the length you will need.  Draw your selection so that it goes outside the tag image, itself (because there is a long length of fiber you cannot see that extends outside the tag).  Left click the delete key and go to Selections/Select None.  Move the trimmed fiber in place at the top of the polka dot image.

Step 11

Duplicate the layer and move the fiber image to the bottom portion of the polka dot image.

Step 12

Now let's frame the side portions of the polka dot image.

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer.  Go to Edit/Paste.  Go to Image/Rotate/Free Rotate/90 Degrees with Direction/Left.  Move the rotated fiber image in between the top and bottom parts of the frame.  Again, draw a selection around the fiber area you do not need, going outside the tag, and click the delete key. Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 13

Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the duplicated, rotated fiber image to the right side of the polka dot image.  Once you have the framing in place, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 14

Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 90%, Bicubic and Resize all Layers Not checked.  This will give you room to add a bow at the bottom of the frame.

Step 15

The basic tag is now complete.  Use the elements of the Blush Scrap Kit to decorate the your tag.  Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 16

Go to Layer/New Raster Layer

Add your copyrighted tube image, resize if necessary, and add a drop shadow with the settings from above (Drop Shadow using the black color).

Step 17

Add your copyright information.  Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).

Step 18

Left click the crop tool and draw a rectangle around the portions of the tag you wish to keep, eliminating any white palette you do not need.  Double left click within the rectangle or left click the check at the crop ribbon.

Step 19

Save your tag now as a template without the text so that you can share the tag with others.

Step 20

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer.  Add your text and apply the drop shadow, using the white color. Resave the tag with another name (so that your template is still intact).
