Hands up those of you who have written to any
Forum Page of any of our newspapers but had hard hitting points
edited out when the letters were published. Hands up those whose
letters were rejected even though you believe them to be well
argued and relevant. Hands up those of you who think the space
of Forum pages is vital but its monopoly by SPH is lamentable.
Well, with technology, we need no longer grumble in private. Send
your rejected or mangled Forum letters to me and I will publish
them in their entirety together with the mangled version, if available,
side by side -- provided they are not libellous. I will also plan
a separate archive of all such letters sent to us so that my editing
decisions are an open book. Remember, this project can succeed
only if you send in your rejected or mangled letters. So do it today!
