Information on K-12 Education in NC
Welcome to BCE Media Center
We had a great beginning for the new 2004-2005 school year at Brush Creek.  We have added 1500 new books which we bought with the EZ-LSTA Grant.  This is a State Library Grant.  We also have 500 new books from the NC Evaluation Center that we have processed and are on the shelves.
We are having a great year at Brush Creek Elementary School
We had a great Fall Festival.  PTA was able to get each program some money.  We purchased 50 new AR tests for the students.  Thanks !
Current Events:
Brush Creek Elementary kicked off our Accelerated Reader program on August 27th at 1:00 p.m.  Our theme for this year is "Climb On Board For The Journey - READ".  If the students meet the school goal of 18000 points and their required points per grade level,we are working on rewards for the Spring.
The goals are:  Kindergarten - Book It                      First Grade -   20 points                      Second Grade - 40 points
Third Grade - 60 points                   Fourth Grade - 70 points                      Fifth Grade -       80 points

The mid-year rewards are as follows:  K-2 - Ice Cream Party                               3- 5- Half Day Skating Trip
To be eligible for the mid-year rewards, each student will need to have half of the required points for the year .  The dates of the mid-year rewards will be determined at a later date.  We will be doing our rewards for mid-year in January, 2005.
To be eligible for the final year rewards, students must meet their point requirements.  We currently have 14,279.2 points.  Encourage  your child to read, read, read.
