Nathalie Doucet is a Guest Artist in Residence at the University of Tennessee as well as the head coach for the Knoxville Opera Company Having completed her Bachelors degree in performance and Pedagogy at l'Université de Moncton in Canada, and her Masters degree in performance at l'Université de Montréal she decided to focus her attention on coaching and accompanying full time. Ms. Doucet quickly began work as a coach fo 3 years and is still listed as a guest coach of the renowned McGill University (hailed as one of the best opera programs in North America). Her growing operatic and recital repertoire has taken her to many companies across Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2001, Ms. Doucet joined Orlando Opera after completing an extensive tour with the Des Moines Metro Opera Company as Music Director for Opera Iowa. She then moved on to Orlando opera for two years where she was Director of the Orlando Opera Resident Artist Program and Director of the Orlando Youth Opera. Nathalie Doucet travelled to Oberaudorf, Germany in the summer of 2002 where she was on the coaching staff for Music Theater Bavaria in July of 2002. Throughout her performing career Ms. Doucet has performed in with such artists as Kate Johnson, Marvis Martin, Cheryl Studer and Erich Parse and in the fall of 2004 she will perform with Mezzo-Soprano Deloris Ziegler. She has also received numerous awards notably from the CIBC Canadian National Music Competition. Ms. Doucet has performed recitals on numerous occasions for recording on the CBC, Canadian Broadcast Company Radio. |
