PATSY IN LAS VEGAS

"...Our friendship  was short in years, but long in memories"  - Anne Armstrong

The above photo is a  color copy sent to me by Anne Armstrong.  Anne received an  orginal photo from Patsy in Jan .  1963.  Patsy had the photo done in a shop in Las Vegas.  The photo has been seen before, but usually it is in  a landscape form , not a potrait  form as above. Anne first meet Patsy at a concert in Canada in the winnter of 61.  She  and  her  group went backstsage to meet. Patsy, who was  still on crutches form her car accident.  From that first meeting a friendship was born.  To this day Anne and her family remains friends with Charlie (Patsy's widower) and thier kids.  That is "Dear Anne" in the Remembering Patsy video where MIchille Wright reads Patsy's letters. Anne was fan club rep in the 60's for Patsy and remains active today in Patsy's fan club. I first meet Anne in Winchester, VA at a fan club get together in 1994 since then her family and I have became friends.  I am a "Patsy Pup"--Anne's nickname for her special guy friends.

Not sure of source from my collection.

During the late 80's and into the 90's The Patsy Cline Memorial Schalorship was issued by the Hensley Family.  The money was raised by Sylvia and Mom Hensley to go to students each year who were headed to college seeking degrees in music related areas.  Since Mom Hensley death the fund has stopped.  I am not sure when or if it will be restarted.
