NAPOLEONIC WARGAMES
This site is maintained by John Binmore, Wargames Officer of the Napoleonic Association which, while being primarily a Re-enactment Society, has a strong Wargame and Research Sections.

The aim of the Wargame Section is to promote interest in the Napoleonic period through playing historical table-top wargames. Each year our Wargame Demo Team runs Napoleonic Wargames at a number of Wargame Shows and Re-enactment events.

For figure games we use Adler 6mm figures and our own rules based on Grande Armee. We tend to play historical games based on the big bicentenary battles. Last year we re-fought the French v Russian battles of Eylau and Friedland. This years game will be the French v Spanish battle of Bailen (Baylen) 1808.

We are also keen on developing an 'In Period' demo game using the Kriegsspiel rules. Whle they were first published by the Prussian Army in 1824 they are based on the Napoleonic system of warfare and were in fact first played in draft form in 1812 at the Berlin Accademy.
