A Kingdom of Dreams ch.6

Okay, well here’s chapter 6. In this chapter stitches and a kiss. Doesn’t that sound very strange? Anyhow on with the fic. Oh yeah, I don’t own anything that has to do with Dbz.

After Trunks had gotten over the shock of seeing his own blood, the pain registered in the mind and he frowned.

"You’re going to need stitches, milord," said a man walking in with a needle and thread. Prince Trunks obediently ripped off his shirt and let the man sap up the blood on he arm with a cloth. Pan sat down to watch.

"I’m not very good at this, milord," said the man fumbling awkwardly with the needle and thread. An idea hit Trunks.

"Well, it is only fair that Princess Pan mend everything that she’d broken, now, isn’t it?" he asked mockingly. Pan wondered of his meaning until he held out the needle and thread to her.

"Stitch up the cut you gave me," he commanded. Pan gasped and hesitantly took the needle and thread. She slowly pierced his skin with the needle and winced as blood poured out from the gash. Prince Trunks smiled at her expression then frowned at the pain he felt in his arm.

"Do you always play so rough?" he asked her. A puzzled expression crossed Pan’s face.

"I thought we were enemies at war," said Pan frowning, "aren’t I supposed to play rough?" Trunks grinned and Pan couldn’t help noticing how handsome he looked when he smiled.

"Yes, but ladies don’t participate in war, do they?" he pointed out.

"Well," said Pan, "I’m not your average lady."

"I noticed!" said Trunks looking at his cut in disgust. Pan burst out laughing at his childish expression. Trunks was curious about Pan, she seemed so different than any girl he had ever known. She was also braver than most men.

"How do you feel about this war?" asked Pan suddenly serious. Trunks thought about it for a second. The only reason he was part of the war was because he wanted to make his father proud of him, but he had never told a soul that.

"I would very much like this war to end," admitted the prince softly. Pan gasped and paused in stitching up his cut. Had Prince Trunks of Vegeta just said that he would like the war to end?

"Yes," said Trunks again. He didn’t know why he felt that he could tell Pan this, but he somehow knew that she would understand, "I would like the war to end."

"So would your sister," said Pan doing another few stitches, "And so would I. And so would my uncle, Prince Goten. Couldn’t we do something about the war?"

"No," said Trunks sadly, "This is the way it must be. We cannot change that." He looked into Pan’s dark eyes pleadingly, as if she must understand him.

Pan looked into his deep blue eyes and found herself lost in them. The two of them felt a connection that was very strong for a moment. Then Pan looked away and sighed. She resumed her stitching and kept her eyes focused on his cut.

"All lies," she whispered to herself.

"What?" asked Trunks who heard her mutter something.

"I’ve heard terrible rumors about you, Prince Trunks," she said with her head bowed, "but I now know that they are all lies." Trunks remembered how she had behaved towards him in the past, injuring him numerous times. Now he knew why.

"What have you heard, Princess Pan?" he asked her wonderingly.

"They said that you were…" Pan swallowed, "a monster. They said that you were unsympathetic cold and bloodthirsty. They told me to hate you, and I listened to them. I am sorry. I apologize for everything I have said and done to you. You are just as badly affected by this war as I am." She looked back up at his eyes and felt that strange feeling again.

Pan felt the ground slipping from beneath her feet and a peculiar weightlessness. She felt herself being drawn closer to Trunks until their faces were inches away. Then, the needle in her hand forgotten, their lips met in a sweet kiss. Just then the tent flap open and Bra walked in.

"Brother…" she began then stopped as she saw Pan and Trunks quickly draw away from each other. Both of them were blushing and Bra immediately knew what they were doing. To make matters worse Trunks had his shirt off so Bra drew her own conclusions. Bra laughed then ran out of the tent.

Pan paled, "She isn’t going to tell anyone is she?" she whispered to Trunks.

"Why?" asked Trunks grinning, "afraid to be seen kissing the enemy?"

Pan paled even more when she realized that she had indeed been kissing the enemy.

"Aren’t you forgetting something?" asked Trunks smiling. Pan looked down and saw the needle in her hand. She blushed remembering that she still had to stitch up his cut. They suddenly both found this amusing and laughed a little.

"You still aren’t going to get to sleep with blankets until you sew those up," he said gesturing to the pile. Pan nodded and became silent. She really hadn’t meant to kill his horse. It was a very beautiful animal and she had liked it. She knew that he would miss it a lot. She didn’t realize that a tear fell down her cheek. Trunks saw it and lifted her chin so that he could look into her eyes.

"Why the tears?" he asked bewildered.

"Your horse," she whispered, "I wouldn’t have tried to escape If I knew that it would mean your horse’s death." Trunks smiled warmly. He liked this girl a lot, even if she was his sworn enemy.

Well, there’s chapter 6! How was it? Did you like what I did with Trunks’ character? Soon there’s gonna be some more g/b!
