Bound in full mottled sheepskin, gilt titles, decoration and raised bands to spine, gilt rules to boards, narrow gilt decorated dentelle, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Twenty-four contemporary hand-coloured plates by Isidore Stanislaus Henri Helman. Some wear to boards, expertly recornered and rebacked to period style, some light foxing throughout, mostly to margins, some water staining to last leaves.These plates are reductions of the folio edition made for the Chinese Emperor by Father Attiret. Binding a little worn, but the contents fine.
