Hello, and welcome to my personal information page.My name is Ram and I live in India. I have a degree in engineering and did my post-graduation in management. I am married and have a son who is eight years old.  I work with an advertising agency. I love reading books on philosophy and psychology .I also love to read novels and comic strips.My favorite authors are Ayn Rand, Arthur Hailey and PG Wodehouse 

I have been fascinated by quotations from my childhood.To me they represent the essence of anyone's thinking-A window to deeper wisdom. I have been collecting them off and on but never systematically. 

I was introduced to the net in '97 and was bowled over by the fact that I could publish my thoughts to a wide audience without moving from my desk.(Yes, to me that was a big advantage;I am very lazy!)This idea of publishing something on the net which would be of use to people stayed with me, grew on me till I decided that I would combine my love for quotes with my new found ardour for the net! 

I joined geocities, got my homepage and waited for the inspiration!Two weeks passed and I was thrown out because I had still not built my homepage!! Well we all live and learn... I was more than determined now that my home page had to be up and that it should be different.I felt that quotations as such would have been covered by a lot of people and what I had to offer had to be different 

I am a devotee of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother and felt that I should bring some of their thoughts to the world through the net..And so was born the idea for the "Quotes for the surfer "site. 

I then decided that it would be a nice idea if I could combine the quotes from different religious leaders.And I started reading about Buddha,Zarathushtra, Prophet Muhammad,Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ramana Maharishi and so on.  I also wanted my viewers to be able to access the thoughts of all these people on any topic in one go, without going back and forth.The result is what you see now
