Not that much more exciting, but
certainly much bigger, this ad now claimed Tangier to be
"THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CENTURY"
It may well of been as the century
still had more than 89 years to try and top it. Were the Levitt's
even born yet?
A day at the beach and more.....I
wonder where the Inn In The Pines was? (The Island View Manor
?) Or if Miss Eugenie served them cookies or if Clarence G.T.
served Fred a subpoena And how many contracts got closed that
day?
Actually a year earlier Clarence
G. T. Smith saw the writing on the wall. Unlike his siblings,
he just prefered to eliminate the middle man. After all he was
a man of principal! Principals Only Please and he was a Tangier!
not a Quimby.
For the next several months all
sorts of news items appeared about Tangier and the promises it
held. Notice the left article now talks about ten large homes.
If they were built what happened to them? Did they all burn down?
And Fred erick J. QuiNby was already to expand the beach road
all the way east to Moriches. But even as the articles and press
releases of progress reports continued to surface something was
going very wrong behind the scenes.
TANGIER WAS ALL OVER THIS MAP
