These are the chords that I figured out, the song is in D on the album but this can be played in any key using a capo or different chord formations. Personally, I play it in F using a capo on the third fret because its alot easier to sing. But for those of you that can sing in low D don't bother with the capo. The chords I've figured out fit are D11 with the drop D thumping strum, Am7, C and G. The chord formations I used can be found at the bottom of this post. I also use drop D tuning given the fact that I play this using a D chord as my base chord. So anyways here it is... Drop D Tuning (DADGBe) D11 She took off her stockings, I held them to my face. Am7 C D11 She had your ankles, I felt filled with grace. "Two hundred dollars straight in, Two-fifty up the ass," she smiled and said. Am7 C She unbuckled my belt, pulled back her hair, D11 And sat in front of me on the bed. She said, "Honey how's that feel, do you want me to go slow?" Am7 C D11 My eyes drifted out the window, down to the road below. G D11 I felt my stomach tighten. The sun bloodied the sky Am7 D11 And sliced through the hotel blinds. I closed my eyes. Sunlight on the Amatitlan, sunlight streaming thru your hair. Am7 C D11 In the Valle de dos Rios, smell of mock orange filled the air. We rode with the vaqueros, down into cool rivers of green. Am7 C I was sure the work and that smile coming out 'neath your hat D11 Was all I'd ever need. G D11 Somehow all you ever need's, never really quite enough you know. Am7 D11 You and I, Maria, we learned it's so. D11 - Am7 - C - D11 She slipped me out of her mouth, "You're ready," she said. Am7 C She took off her bra and panties, wet her finger, slipped it inside her, D11 And crawled over me on the bed. G She poured me another whisky, Said, "Here's to the best you ever had." D11 We laughed and made a toast. Am7 C It wasn't the best I ever had, D11 Not even close. D11 - Am7 - C - D11 D11 Am7 C G Some hammer-ons and pull-offs e--0-----0-----0-----0-- on the e string during D11 and G B--3-----1-----1-----3-- chords sounds cool also.
