F You were 13 but way ahead of your time C I walked home with a limb but I felt fine G That night in Freehold C Well, the girls at Freehold Regional they looked pretty fine G And my heart broke at least half a dozen times F I wonder if they miss me, they still get the itch C Would they have dumped me if they knew I'd strike a bridge? G Straight out of Freehold C Well, Tex, rest in peace, and Marion gave us kids a hand in Freehold G George and me started up a little rock and roll band in Freehold F Well, we learned pretty quick how to rock C I'll never forget the feeling of that first 5 bucks in my pocket G That I earned in Freehold C Well, I got outta here really hard and fast in Freehold G Everybody wanted to kick my ass back there in Freehold F Well, if you were different, black or brown C It was a bit of a redneck town G Back then in Freehold C Well, something broke my daddy's back in Freehold G In '69 he left and he never come back to Freehold F 'Cept once he drove from California, 3000 miles in three days C Called my relatives some dirty names G And pulled straight out of Freehold C My sister had her first little baby at 17 in Freehold G Well people they can be pretty mean F Honey, you had a rough road to go, but you ain't made of nothin' but soul C I love you more than you'll ever know G We both survived Freehold C Well, my buddy Mike, well, he's the mayor now in Freehold G I remember when we used to have a lot more hair in Freehold F Well, I left and swore I'd never walk these streets again, Jack C Tonight all I can say is "Holy shit, I'm back!" G Back in Freehold C Well, this summer everything was green in Freehold G Rode my kids on the fire engine through the streets of Freehold F I showed 'em where their dad was born and raised C And first felt the sun on his face G There in Freehold C Well, I still got a lot of good friends right here in town G I can usually find me a free beer somewhere F With offers of free meals I am blessed C Should I go crazy, blow all my money and ruin my life, well, at least I'll never go hungry I guess G Here in Freehold C Well, I got a good Catholic education here in Freehold G Led to an awful lot of masturbation here in Freehold F Father, it was just something I did for a smile C Hell, I still get a good one off once in a while G And dedicate it to Freehold C Don't get me wrong, I ain't puttin' anybody down F Hell, in the end it all just goes and comes around G It's one hell of a town, Freehold!
