Eastern Michigan to name new coach

The Ann Arbor News reports that Eastern Michigan will name AnnMarie Gilbert, a Michigan State assistant, as Head Coach of the Eagles.

The News reports that a press conference will be held on Tuesday to introduce Gilbert.

McCoy transfers to Bowling Green

Niki McCoy, a third Team All-MAC selection as a sophomore at Akron last season, will transfer to Bowling Green.

Under NCAA rules, she will sit out the 2007-08 season and have two years of eligibility with the Falcons.

Eagles to hit Bahamas beaches

Eastern Michigan will head to the Bahamas this November to play in the Junkanoo Jam on Grand Bahama Island.

The Eagles will play Alabama in the first round of the Lucaya Division on November 23 with the Championship Game the following day.

Moore signs WNBA contract

Western Michigan's Carrie Moore, the MAC Co-Player of the Year, has signed a free agent contract with the Phoenix Mercury.

The Mercury's training camp begins on April 23.

Guevara named Chippewas coach

Former Michigan head coach Sue Guevara has been named Central Michigan's new leader, replacing Eileen Kleinfelter, whose contract was not renewed.

Guevara had a 123-82 record at Michigan and twice was named Big 10 Coach of the Year.  She has been an assistant coach at Auburn the last three seasons.

Miller extended through 2013

Bowling Green head coach Curt Miller will received a restructured contract that will keep with the Falcons for six years with a raise that will make him the highest paid coach at the school.

Falcons finish 15th in Coaches' Poll


Bowling Green is ranked 15th in the final USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll of the season released after the NCAA Tournament championship Game..

The Falcons were 20th in the final AP Poll which was released at the end of the regular season.

Mann, Moore are Kodak/WBCA All-American finalists

Bowling Green's Ali Mann and Western Michigan's Carrie Moore, recently named MAC Co-Players of the Year, have been selected as finalists for the Kodak/WBCA All-America Team.

The Mid-American Conference has announced the 2007 All-Conference Teams and Award winners.

Western Michigan's Carrie Moore and Bowling Green's Ali Mann are Players of the Year.

Eastern Michigan's Sarah VanMetre has been named a First Team, ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American and Western Michigan's Carrie Moore is a member of the Second Team.

Academic All-District Teams selections

Ball State's Kelsey Corbin has been named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District V Second Team.

Western Michigan's Carrie Moore and Eastern Michigan's Sarah VanMetre has been named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District IV First Team.  They are now eligible for selection as an Academic All-American.

Kent State's Kristin Peoples was named to the District IV Second Team and Bowling Green's Ali Mann is on the Third Team.
