In the vicinity of an underground storage tank groundwater contamination was detected. MEGATERRA worked out the remediation action plan based on existing analytical data and new sampling and analysis, delineation of contaminated plum, risk assessment and cost/benefit analysis of remediation technologies.

Ground water clean-up was carried out using production well, stripping technique and injection trench. Starting benzene concentration was: 36 mg/dm3. After 2 year long treatment period with 10 m3/day extraction rate target benzene level (0,6 mg/dm3) was reached.
