Having already failed an audition fo pop idol the year before, I thought I'd give the chance of fame and adulation another try by entering for Popstars: the rivals!  I already knew what Pete Waterman thought of me from my last audition so I decided to ask new judges, ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Irish boyband creator Louis Walsh and audition for them!
I thanked the judges for their time, said goodbye and made my way off to be comforted by one of the show's presenters, the lovely Donna Air, just like many other pop hopefuls before me had after having their dreams cruelly destroyed.  But of course it hadn't been bad news for everyone.
I'm sure you'll all agree it was extremely brave of me to put myself through what many consider to be torture all over again but I did feel I had improved muchly over the year and it was worth another shot but before braving the judges, I decided to get some advice from reality pop show veteran, Pop Idol's Miss Rosie Ribbons!  Rosie told me to try and look confident even if that wasn't how I felt and to just go for it so that's exactly what I planned to do!! That is what I planned to do before I came face to face with Miss Halliwell!!
Popstars: The Rivals
I decided to talk to those who had been successful and made it through to the live finals!
Now the Spice Girls may have been a bit before my time but I have all their albums and if I was around back then, you can guarantee I would have been a big fan and followed them everywhere!!  Ginger Spice was a legend and now I was stood infront of her!!  Suddenly I could hardly breathe, let alone sing!
I tried to pull myself together but it was no good.  I managed to squeak out the first line of my song # Beans and Boo, Beans and Boo, Beans and Boo and a ted called Bear# but I knew immediately that I had once again ruined my chances of pop superstardom!!  I looked up at the judges and heard Louis mutter something about me letting nerves get the better of me.  "Sorry," said Geri, "You're not quite what we're looking for." Oh well, I'll try again another time!
I saw Linzi first and she admitted she was a bit nervous so I wished her luck and gave her a big hug but it wasn't meant to be and she was voted off in the first round.  I knew how she felt but she had lots of talent and I knew she wouldn't give up her dream!                             Next...
