Discovery Place - Weather

On January 13th we were fortunate enough to have a field trip come to us, The Discovery Place Weahter Station. Several stations were set up for the students to explore the weather and the way it effects our environment.

At one of the stations the boys and girls became the wind using their breath to move the balloons.

At another area a blow dryer represented the wind at different speeds. At the highest speed the students could balance a ping, pong ball.

We also had the chance to see heat and its effects, even the heat from our own bodies.

A temperature station at one table let the boys and girls use the skills we had learned in the classroom to read a thermometer.
