Curiosity
Killed the Cat
In the
short story entitled “Rose-Johnny” written by Barbara Kingsolver, Georgeanne displays herself as a curious character. Upon
meeting Rose-Johnny, Georgeanne desires to acquaint
herself with Rose-Johnny, an odd shopkeeper, in every way possible. She
questions Rose-Johnny on her past life and wonders aloud why the people in town
believe her to be odd and eccentric. Also, Georgeanne’s
curiosity often leads her into trouble. When she tries to discover why the
townspeople are biased toward her black friends, she is almost beaten to death
by some of her male. counterparts. Georgeanne’s
curiosity definitely is displayed often in the short story “Rose-Johnny”.
