                                                            Curiosity Killed the Cat

 

            In the short story entitled “Rose-Johnny” written by Barbara Kingsolver, Georgeanne displays herself as a curious character. Upon meeting Rose-Johnny, Georgeanne desires to acquaint herself with Rose-Johnny, an odd shopkeeper, in every way possible. She questions Rose-Johnny on her past life and wonders aloud why the people in town believe her to be odd and eccentric. Also, Georgeanne’s curiosity often leads her into trouble. When she tries to discover why the townspeople are biased toward her black friends, she is almost beaten to death by some of her male. counterparts. Georgeanne’s curiosity definitely is displayed often in the short story “Rose-Johnny”.
