Daughtry Elementary School is a Reading First school so our reading instruction cannot be interrupted from 8:10-10:15 every morning. The rest of our day will on occasion be flexible depending on what we are working on!

Our Schedule (2007-2008)

7:45-8:10 Morning News, Attendance, Morning Work (Journal Writing, Math Work, Silent Reading, etc.)

8:10-8:25 Quick Reads (fluency practice)

8:25-8:45 Spelling, Phonics, Word Sorting

8:45-9:30 Reading Instruction (comprehension and vocabulary)
EIP Students pulled at this time

9:30-10:15 Literacy Centers and Small Groups

10:15-11:00 Math(Fact Practice, Lesson)

11:00-11:30 Grammar/Writing

11:30-12:00 Lunch

12:00-12:20 Recess

12:20-1:05 Science/Social Studies (alternating every few weeks)

1:05-1:45 Specials

1:45-2:40 Intervention Block

2:45 Dismissal

Mrs. Fitzsimmons is usually in her room by 7:15 in the morning and until at least 3:15 in the afternoon. (Usually until 4:00 or 4:30!!) If you need to contact me please do so at these times not during the school day since I am trying to teach!! :-)
