REVIEW
The Guru
"Not as good as expected"
Jimi Mystri character is a dance instructor in India when his friend who went to New York to be actor said he had become one told him. He then deceides to move to America to become an actor. When he gets there he finds out that his friend is a waiter at a resturant and tells him, "You wouldn't have come if I told you the truth." Jimi then gets a job at the restuarant too, but gets fired. He goes to find an acting career. He does, but its not the kind of movie he wanted to make ;?)
He meets Heather Grahms character who hasn't told her fiance about her real careeer. She told him she was a teacher. One day when Jimi goes a long with his friends to cater a party, the guru the people at the party hired gets drunk so Jimi replaces him. He tells them stuff that Heather Grahm told him. They like him and Marrissa Tomei's character tries to get him gigs around town. He befriends Heather Graham who has insiteful stuff that Jimi uses to intrigue the audiences. He still wants to make real  movies and Heather Grahm thinks she's helping him make "other movies" She finds out and gets mad. Its soon her wedding day and then its kindof predictable what happens  ;?)
Fine acting and great humor by the roomates. Make this a usually funny movie that's missing something. The musical numbers were very nice. It used alot of stuff from Grease. It was good, but somewhat empty.  Its not bad, but its alright.

RATING:  B-

Should you see it?  Yes, if you wish, but don't race to go see.
