REVIEW
Johnny English
"Lacks any sense of realism but many laughs!"
After much waiting, from the postponement from December to March to when it was released in July, I finally saw it. Rowan Atkinson playing a character that was originally a credit card spokes man. Before I tell you the plot, you must know that this movie has no sense of realism. If this is what its really like in England, the people are brain washable idiots and MI-7 is less secure than the police station in the first Terminator. Now you may be saying, “maybe the writers don’t know that much about England and MI-7”. Well it was written by the people who brought us the very realistic The World is Not Enough and the “What the hell were they smokingl?”, Die Another Day. These guys should know what they’re writing about. Well anyway, when all the secret agents are killed (Seems pretty easy to do), Rowan Atkinson becomes their “number 1”.  It has a good title sequence where he comes into MI-7, gets outfitted, armed, and then for the rest he’s lost trying to find the where he’s to be briefed. It’s a good song they use. John Malkovich plays the villain, a French man  who owns many prisons. He finds out if the queen advocates, he’ll be king. So he steals the crown jewels and has the queen advocate. When he is the king, he’ll turn England into the worlds largest prison. Johnny English is the only person in England who wants to stop him! Seriously!! The people of England are all waving flags and cheering as if they want the queen gone and some French guy to be their king. And most of all, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND HAS NO CONTROL ON HOW ENGLAND!!! If this guy is made king, he’d have no power, let alone turn England into a prison. He should replace Tony Blair if he wants power.
Putting the plot to the side we have a hilarious movie. Very funny. Funny enough to make you forget the plot. I was more pleased with the car chase in this than the one in Die Another Day. This move is the most unrealistic, hilarious, anti French movie that shows the English as idiots of the year. Hopefully it meant to be this way. If this has come off as if I don’t like it, I didn’t mean to. I liked it, but it just lacked the little bit of realism that is needed and important.  I’m thinking, maybe they meant to make it unrealistic (like Die Another Day). Plenty of fun not a lot of thought. And the "Comic Nudity" is the high priest butt.

Grade: B

Should you see it? Yes if your looking for some good laughs and not worried about the realism.

Rated PG for comic nudity, some crude humor and language
