MR. ROWENS TRAVELS

Nepal is a small country in Asia, right between India and China.

Nepal goes from jungles in the south, with Bengal Tigers, to the mountains of the north, the mighty Himalayas. 10 out of the 14 mountains in the world over 8000 meters tall, including the tallest: Mount Everest, are in Nepal. Right about in the center of the country, in a big valley, is the capital, Kathmandu.

Besides in pockets around and in between the bigger cities, Nepal doesn't have any roads, or ones you can drive on at least. Most of the country is connected by foot paths. Most villages don't have electricity either, and most families are farmers growing food for themselves, their animals, and maybe some to sell.

The Nepali people are hard working and their lives are often tough, but they are always quick to smile and very warm when you meet them.

The country is very old, with lots of history and temples built by kings long, long ago. It's a beautiful and interesting place to visit.

There is much to learn about Nepal and the Nepali people. You can learn about their daily life, schools, land, language, money, numbers, transportation, and their food. So explore Nepal, and don't forget to read my journal and visit the photo gallery.
