Everyone wants to know how I got my name. My mom's best friend, Ms. Carolyn, kept telling everybody that asked my name, that it was "my new" kitty cat. Now everyone knows that if you are from Louisiana you have to put an "eaux" on the end of everything. Thus, my name became Mineaux! When I was only about 8 weeks old I went to live at my mom's grocery store and everyone thought I was just the most precious kitty. Someone was holding me or playing with me all the time. Oh, and as you can see, I really love boxes.
When mom closed her grocery store it was decided I would go live at Ms. Carolyn's house, but I was really unhappy. I didn't like being outside with those "yard cats". One day my mom came and got me and said I could go inside at her house. Now I have it made! All I do is eat, sleep and .....well....you know! |

As you can see, I have really grown up and out! Mom now calls me her "B&B" baby. Big and beautiful. She says I have been going thru the terrible two's for about the last 4 years. I am really helpful. I always let mom know when someone has left a message on her answering machine, not to mention I remind her to feed that "boy" cat that lives outside. I even spend a lot of my time looking over her shoulder when she is at the computer. I really want to learn how to work this thing.
Everything is really great here except for that "other cat" who lives with us. I tolerate her....well ok...I even like her a little....just as long as she stays in her place and doesn't eat my food. Mom found her in the middle of the road one day. She must have been a "cat fight" case she was scratched up. So naturally after checking with all the neighbors in the area, mom brought her home. |

Her name is Nana, short for Anna (you know Anna and the King of Siam).....la di da! And she doesn't walk, she stalks. She has the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen. And look how she is marked up......tell me there wasn't a Siamese in the woodpile somewhere. She is not very sociable and is so jealous of mom when anyone is around. She spends most of her time on mom's sewing table, especially if there is a new piece of fabric laying up there. But I guess it could be worse.....she could be "dog".

I am sorry to say that Frankie passed away in February of 2004. She was such a sweet kitten, so quiet and gentle. She had always been sickly and I guess her little heart finally gave out. She will be missed, but we know she has gone on to a better spot. |
