Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer.
There is Glenn and Louise.  They live in New Orleans during the week and come up on the weekends.  Glenn is retired and Louise is a professor at Southern University in New Orleans. They are not just friends, they are family. Their love and inspiration has pulled me through some of the worst times in my life and I don't know what I would do without them.
Then there is Carolyn and Matthew.  They are my extended family. They are a gift from God and I would be lost without them.  Both are great cooks and maybe that is why I weigh more now than I did when I met them.  Not only can Matthew cook.....he builds some great birdhouses and I have been the lucky receipient of a few.  He helps me with just about anything I try to do.
VISIT THE KITCHEN TO TRY SOME OF THEIR GREAT RECIPES.
Their son, JR, without whose help these pages would never have been created, is my computer expert.  He is a senior at LSU this year, majoring in Psychology and I have to take a lot of ribbing off him because I went to Ole Miss.
Their daughter, Lindsay, is a huge Brett Favre fan and loves Harley's.  She graduated from high school this year and was the receipent of the school's "Hawk" award.  She enjoys writing and I wouldn't be surprised to see her name on a best-seller one of these days.
Carolyn's mom, Mrs. Vennie, is my inspiration when it comes to beautiful handmade quilts.  She pieces by machine, but still quilts by hand.  Truly works of the heart.
Jeannie is Carolyn's sister and a home-health nurse.  The job fits her perfectly.  Her kind and generous nature is bound to make her patients feel better.  She is always there with a helping hand and a warm smile.
I can't forget Paula whose love, courage, laughter, advice and strength has pulled me through some low periods in my life in the last 15 years.  She doesn't always tell me what I want to hear, but she always tells me the truth.  It seems as if she knows when I am having a rough time, because that's when a e-card will show up in my mail just to let me know she is thinking of me.  Her zest for life and all it's facets has inspired me many times to try something new.
Then there is Blondie.  She is the best friend a girl could have, especially if you happen to have a treat or two in your pocket.
Visit my Pokeno page and meet my other friends in the community!
TRIBUTE TO MY DAD
My "son" and his wife.  David and Linda are a very important part of my life.  I don't get to see them near as often as I would like.  But David never fails to call me on the holidays and he always makes me smile.

CYBER-FRIENDS
We may never see their faces, but we see their hearts every time we come on-line.
What a wonderful gift from my friend Cindy!  Made my day!  And she is so priceless.  Always giving of her time to help all of us in the Heartland.
I love anything that flies and that's how I found my friend Scott.  Visit his home page and see his plane.
If you love sailing you won't want to miss Barnacle Bill's site.

I look forward to the Good Stuff from Mark everyday.  It never fails to make me smile.  Mark's obvious faith in God and America has picked me up on more than one occasion.
Go by and visit Bob Perks.  His inspirational stories that I receive everyday make me laugh, cry and hope.  I wouldn't miss a one!

Bob, I wish you enough!

Silences make the real conversations between friends.  Not the saying, but the never needing to say, is what counts.
