Caedmon's Call

CD Reviews:

Caedmon's Call - My Calm//Your Storm

This album is an amazing album from a very big Christian Rock Band. "My Calm/Your Storm" is a great opening to a solid album. The acoustic guitars and percussion are really good. Another good song on this album which is really soft and mellow is "Too Tender" in which Danielle (Glenn) Young showcases her amazing solo voice. "All I Know" is a soft song too, with great vocals and good acoustic guitars. Another good song on this album is "There's A Stirring" which once again has great vocals from Danielle Glenn and her future husband at the time Cliff Young. This is one of their first albums and is simply amazing. A really good taste of what is to come from this band. I will get into that though.

My Rating - A great starter album from an amazing band. I recommend buying the next one that I will write about below. This album contains some of the same songs on the next album!

Caedmon's Call - Self Entitled Album

This album is one of my favorites of all time. The album starts off with "Lead of Love" which is just beautiful and amazing. The guitars and vocals are unbelievable. The next song is called "Close of Autumn", and it has amazing vocals by Danielle (Glenn) Young, a beautiful guitar beginning and great percussions. Another great song on this album is called "Bus Driver" which has great piano music and really interesting words and instruments. "Hope to Carry On" is a song that was given to the band by Rich Mullins, another great artist in the history of Christian Music that was killed tragically in a car crash years ago. One of my favorite songs on this album which really sticks to me is called "I Just Don't Want Coffee". This is such an amazing song with the instruments and the vocals and the lyrics. It has such a great tune to it. A sad song on this album is called "Center Aisle" which is about a friend of Derek Webb (lead guitar) who committed suicide. It is such a sad song but the it seems to stick to me when I feel sad. He wrote the song in the car on the way back from the funeral. I can just imagine him writing the song, as it speaks for so many people that don't know what to say or think when a loved one has died. The last song that really puts a seal on this great album is called "Coming Home". This is one of my favorite songs from this band. The instruments are strong, the vocals are great, the words are amazing. A great song!

My Rating - This album makes me speechless at how good it is. I love this album!!!

Caedmon's Call - 40 Acres

This is like the little awesome brother of the previous album. The album picks up from the last album. I remember listening to this album over and over again in college doing my projects. The first song on the album is plain amazing. It is called "There You Go". This song has great vocals, great beat, great instruments, and I like it a lot. The next song is "Thankful" sung by Derek Webb and is really heavy in percussions. I remember seeing this song done live. Simply awesome. It was amazing how many instruments went into this song. It goes to show the talent of the band with their God given gifts. A beautiful song by Danielle Young (she married Cliff Young) called "Shifting Sand" follows. This is an amazing song which is soft but powerful with its words. She has a wonderful voice. A soft acoustic song called "Faith My Eyes" follows. The song is sung by Derek Webb, an amazing guitarist, vocalist, and song writer. Banjos sound awesome on this album. I never thought that a banjo would sound amazing. I was wrong. "Where I Began" is an awesome song on this album. It is sung by Cliff Young and has great instruments and backup vocals. Another great song on this album is called "Climb On" which is sung by the beautiful vocals of Danielle Young. Really amazing! A beautiful ending called "40 Acres" is just really good. I don't know how to explain my feelings for albums like these. It just makes me feel good and I just want to sing along. I could just listen to them forever. :)

My Rating - A wonderful album!!! I continue to enjoy every album that this band comes out. You can buy all of them and you will not be disappointed. This is a very strong album. One of my favorite Christian Rock album!!!!!!

Caedmon's Call - Long Line of Leavers

This album is a good album. The music has a different sound. This album features a new band member named Josh Moore who seems to play everything instrumental very well. I've read that he is an instrumental guru. :) One of my favorite songs off of this album is called "Love Is Different". The music is by Derek Webb and it just sounds really good to me. It is very catchy!! The next song called "Prepare Ye The Way" is a great praise song and is really beautiful. Another one of my favorite songs from this album is called "Prove Me Wrong". This is a great song with great backup vocals and great instruments. This album also features another soft song from Danielle Young called "Masquerade" which sounds like a lounge song. A great acoustic song on the album is called "Valleys Fill First". The guitars are amazing and the vocals are really great too! A song with a great dance beat is called "Dance". It gives you a great picture of people dancing and have a great time. The end of this album has one of the most fun songs I've ever heard. It is called "Ballad of San Francisco" and it just a really catchy song.

My Rating - A different sound for an amazing band. Their talent just seems to grow and grow. I enjoy their music so much. Buy this one!!!

Caedmon's Call - In The Company of Angels

Caedmon's Call goes back to their old acoustic sound with strong worship songs and beautiful words as always. The album begins with the amazing "We Delight", written by Josh Moore the "music guru". The next song is listed on my top 25 favorite songs called "Before There Was Time". This song is simply amazing and I fell in love with it when I heard it for the first time. I never get tired of this one. It is absolutely beautiful. The next song called "Thy Mercy" is a beautiful song. It is sung by Derek Webb, and written by his wife (Sandra McCracken). The next song is called "God Who Saves" and is sung by the very talented voice of Danielle Young. It is soft, beautiful, and full of praise. The next song is called "Who You Are" and is very catchy. The sound starts off kind of normal and then I just love the chorus. The next song is very very good. It is called "Carry Your Love" and just moves me when I hear it. The next song is one of my 25 favorite songs called "God of Wonders". This song is also on the City on A Hill album which has Mac Powell from Third Day and Cliff and Danielle Young of Caedmon's Call. The version on this album is a live concert rendition from Caedmon's Call. Another song on this album is called "Oh Lord Your Love" and is written by Rich Mullins and Cliff Young. Another amazing tribute to Rich Mullins who has a strong influence in this great band. The album ends with a great praise song and beautiful instruments with a song called "The Danse". A great ending to an absolutely beautiful album.

My Rating - BUY THESE ALBUMS!!!!!! You will not regret it. These albums are all amazing. This album is simply beautiful. Everyone should have it!
