Winamp used an average of 1% of the CPU time as listed in the Win 2000 Task Manager. Windows MP used an average of 30% but on one occation it jumped randomly back and fourth between 26% and 80%. Both tests were done WITHOUT visualizations (I minimized Windows MP, if it is any good at all it will stop its visualization when minimized). For all the tests, I played the MP3 song Faint by Linkin Park from the meteora album, it is 2:42 minits long and playes at 192kbps. Later on, I will test with a movie (yes, Winamp 2.x does play movies). I am always open to comments, suggestions, or more data. Email me at mraterin@yahoo.com

What is PID? Pid is a number that indicates priority over the CPU. The lower the number, the higher the priority. It is similay to IRQ's and Administrative distance (if you are aquainted with routers).

Technical Junk: Winamp version 2.81, Windows MP version 7.01.00.3055
Legal Junk: I'm not a lawyer I don't know what I need to say or what disclaimers I need to put in, so sue me (no, really).
