Biography of Jason Miller-

I graduated from Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, Iowa in 1997. I then went on to complete a degree in geography at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and a Masters in Security Management from Webster University

In 1996 I enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard, at the age of 17 and attended Basic and Advanced Training in Delta Company 169TH Engineer Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri over the two following summers.
I returned to Iowa and served with the 834th Engineer Company, Iowa Army National Guard. I served as Team Member, Team Leader, Pre-Basic Training Platoon Leader, And Cadet Platoon leader of 1st and then 2nd Platoon. Wile I was with the unit we trained at, Fort McCoy Wisconsin, Fort Chaffee Arkansas, Camp Dodge Iowa, and at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk Louisiana.
I was commissioned in to the active Army on 5 May 2001 after graduating with a B.A. in Geography from the University of Northern Iowa. I then attended the Military Police Officer Basic Course in Fort Leonard Wood and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and assigned to the 401st Military Police Company. While at the 401st I served as the 1st Platoon Leader and attended the Motor Pool Operational Maintenance course as the unit maintenance officer. In January of 2002, I deployed with the unit to Cuba. While in Cuba I served as a duty officer at Camp X-Ray as well as the Battalion Communications Officer. After returning to Fort Hood I was transferred to the 4th Military Police Company, 4th Infantry Division where I attended the FBCB2 Leaders Course (Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below) and the Military Police Officers Course.  On March 31, 2003 the 4th MP Co was deployed to the Middle East to take part in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I was Platoon Leader for 4th and then 2nd Platoon.  I have had the privilege of seeing several parts of Iraq including the Kurdish area, Baghdad, Kirkuk, Sammara, Baji, Balad, and Baqubah.  I redeployed with the 4th Infantry Division to the United States in March.  I was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 NOV 2004, attended the Military Police Captain Career Course in Fort Leonard Wood, MO and was assigned to the Third U.S. Army at Fort McPherson, GA where I serve as a Operations Officer overseeing the Customs program.
