The Shops
The Malls
Morgantown Mall

It's home to an overpriced food court and typical stores.  It's newer and bigger than Mountaineer Mall, and in motown lingo is referred to as the 'new mall'.  It is home to a JC Pennys, Proffits, Sears, Elderbeerman, and several smaller stores.  The more interesting ones are Gadzooks where one can buy trendy overpriced teen gear,  Electronics Boutique, Waldenbooks, and On Cue. There is also a mall lounge, complete with vending machines, computer access and cable television.
Mountaineer Mall

If you're looking for fine dining and expensive stores, the Mountaineer Mall is not for you.  It's home to Gabe's (Gabrial Brother's) which is a bargain seconds and overrun store.  There, you can find great bargains, but make sure the zippers work. Wal-Mart is also located in the Mountaineer Mall, as is a large Goodwill store.  JoAnn fabrics, Dollar General, On Cue, and Wedding World are some of the other stores.  For a bargain, or just an interesting experience, go to Mountaineer Mall.  But be prepared to eat a pretzel or a sub, because it dosen't have much food variety.
Downtown
Thrift Shops

The Walnut Street Thrift Shop
Walnut street Morgantown

If you don't mind wading through a fire hazard to shop, this is a fun store.  Find unique clothes and miscellaneous items.

The Psychedellic Lizard
High street Morgantown

This is a new, small, rather dark store that smells heavily of inscence.  There are a few interesting items. The owners have a pet iguana who they occasionally let wander around the store.

Va Voom
On pleasant street
Va Voom sells unique vintage clothes for not too much money.  They are open "noon to nite"(whatever that means).  It's a fun place to find cool stuff.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store
1264 University avenue Morgantown

If you want a bargain, this is a good place to go.  However, it's hard to find unique clothes here.
Interesting Retail Shops

Ain's International
310 High street Morgantown

This is my favorite store in Morgantown.  They have all sorts of unique stuff fresh from India.  They have beautiful hand painted and batik skirts and loose, free flowing shirts.  They also have bed spreads, jewlrey, and bendis.  The prices are very resonable.

Slight Indulgence
407 High street Morgantown

If you want jelly bellies, chocolate covered expresso beans, Godiva Chocolate, exotic fresh cofee or tea, this is the place to be.  They serve cofee and tea, and sell all sorts of goodies.  But be warned: they are on the expensive side.

Mountain People's CoOp
1400 university avenue Morgantown

This is another of my favorite places.  They sell organic produce, vegan products, as well as clothing, and interesting trinkets.

The Gateway
225 Fayette street Morgantown
(304)292-3045

A good comic store that also sells collectible card game cards.  If you're looking for older magic cards this is the place.  It also has a good selection of comics.

Kassar's

This is a beautiful middle eastern market with fresh, hot food, and a place to eat it, as well as middle eastern products.  It's one of the only places in town to buy henna, vegan jello, and many other interesting little items.
