Mote's Thoughts

Scorpius (Wayne Pygram) was bred of an enslaved Sebacian mother to a Scarran male and  reared by a Brutal Scarran female as a test subject in cross breeding. He escaped from his captors and fled to the Peacekeepers. PeaceKeepers, hesitant at first,  reluctantly accepted him after he gave them vital technical data which allowed them to destroy the Scarran ship upon which Scorpius was raised and tortured. Through the years Scorpius has, through brilliance and cunning, gained power among the Sebacian PeaceKeepers. Though he is not specifically military, (probably due to his impure heritage,) he holds an undetermined rank whose authority can only be countermanded by a direct act of  PeaceKeeper high command.

The twist of genes in Scorpius created a unique deficiency in Scorpius, as well as several unique abilities. While his Scarran half yearns for and generates heat, his Sebacian half is utterly vulnerable and wounded by it. Scorpius protects himself from his own body heat by a unique cooling suit which covers his entire body. Cooling rods must be periodically inserted into his cranium to keep his own generation of heat from killing him. Along with his defects, however, comes several unexpected bonuses. Scorpius has the ability to "see" the energy signatures of living creatures. Each species has its own unique signature. This signature is not unlike a language, and once Scorpius learns the language, he becomes able to read the various people he encounters. Fear, anger, emotions can all be read by Scorpius. After some experience with a Species, Scorpius can even detect the subtle variations most species emit when lying or holding something back.

Scorpius, in his quest for wormhole tech, implanted a neural clone of himself into Crichton's subconscious. When he retrieved the data the clone had already spilled over into Crichton's mind and was partially left behind. Though initially an irritant for Crichton, the clone, named Harvey, soon accepted his meager existence and even helped Crichton eventually destroy Scorpius' wormhole project.

Grayza had Scorpius shot and believed him to be dead, though he managed eventually to find his way to Moya. Because he had previously saved Aeryn's life, she made them promise not to kill him. He also APPARENTLY destroyed the neural clone left behind in JC's mind. Though he is still locked up in a cell on Moya, it is as of yet unclear as to whether his presence will be beneficial or detrimental to the crew.
