Welcome to my SCA homepage. I've played in the SCA for thirty years with my principle interests being singing and playing musical instruments and researching and recreating arts and sciences. My original SCA persona was Mot Cather. After 25 years I changed my persona to Amata Amati d'Arezzo.

Mot's Songbook: I'm an afficianado of folk songs of the British Isles and have been collecting folk songs since the mid-seventies. I used to carry a blank book on my person and when I heard someone sing a song I liked I'd add the words to my book. Mot's Songbook is a collection of those songs. I bring it with me to SCA events in the hopes others will sing with me. Feel free to print out a copy and join me!
Pyrography: This page is my research findings on period pyrography (woodburning). I've also included my pyrography projects.
Baronial Investiture Tapestry: My husband and I worked to create a Bayeux-style tapestry commemorating the Barony of Bryn Gwlad's Baronial Investiture in May 2003.
Candlemas Banner: I researched canvas painting techniques and created a banner for Bryn Gwlad's February 2004 Candlemas event.
I have a Harp CD! (Sample) I originally joined the SCA to have a place to play my Irish harp. Mundanely I have a harp ministry and play at the bedsides of nursing home residents and as a Hospice volunteer. When I was raising money for my big harp, I made a CD of Medieval harp music and songs of Turlough O'Carolan. I still have some available for a donation of $15.00.
