Yu-Ting Chen,
D.M.A.

Pianist Yu-Ting Chen  is a persuasive interpreter of Brahms's piano music, and she has written a dissertation entitled 'Brahms, the early choral music heritage and his piano music.'  Among her recent accomplishments from winning competitions are  concerto performances with orchestras in Seattle and a  performance at Seattle broadcasting station.  She has also made a successful recital tour throughout the state of Washington, sponsored by the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle and Washington State Cities.  As collaborative artist, Yu-Ting has performed chamber music concerts in Seattle as an active member of the Young Internationals Chamber Music Society. 

A native of Taiwan, Ms. Chen studied with Mack McCray at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she received her BM and MM degrees.  She then worked with Craig Sheppard at the  University of Washington and received her DMA degree in piano performance.  In addition to her pianistic studies, Ms. Chen received pedagogical trainings from the Taipei Municipal Teachers' College in Taiwan and the Western Washington University. Ms. Chen has taught at the Ming-Tao Public School in Taipei and the Highline Community College in Seattle.   She maintains a private teaching studio.  She now resides in the Bay area.
