Note the construction in both of these pictures. Thought I had escaped it, but I am afraid continual construction is a mark of Western "civilization."  The cool thing about Amsterdam though, is SIDEWALKS, not roads, are being widened!

Tram 2.  Hari hates it.  It is loud, noisy, and shakes.  But it gets him from point A to B without worrying about traffic, parking, or gas prices.

Believe it or not, this fancy looking building is not a palace.  The Magna Plaza is an old post office turned modern shopping mall.
