"What did we do"?

God sent to all of us his son to love,And all his love on the wings of a Dove.And what is it that we dared to do?

We added his name to a list of two.

We put him on a pedestal and killed him.

And put ourselves out on a limb.

Now Jesus, who is the name of the son,

Knew that we who knew not what we had done..

Stayed on the pedestal so we can see.

Just how much he loved you and me.

He took all the pain,

And he took all the shame.

His pain was great; his suffering was long,

We didn't know we did anything wrong.

As the day grew long and dark,

what we did made its mark.

It changed the world for all mankind,

We must have been out of our mind.

We buried him in a tomb so low and dark,

And seal the door with a rock.

We waited and we watched for the Lord,

And unseen he walked through the door.

Women who was holy went to the tomb,

And one of them looked to see all the room.

The body of our Lord was gone,

And the women sang a song.

Our Lord has risen, he is with you and me,

Hurry, hurry come look and see.

A man tending a grave said to thee,

Why are you here looking for me?

As Jesus sat and taught for the last time,

He left with them a wonderful sign.

He said he will come back,

So in faith do not lack.

Just praise the Lord Jesus Christ our savior,

And with God live forever more.
