"WHEN WE FORGET TO PRAY"

by Marilyn Oliver

The morning that she got to the store she knew that it was going to be a very different kind of day. The alarm clock didn't go off, and she was late getting up. The hot water tank went out during the night, and there was no hot water to shower. Then to top off everything else the car had a dead battery and she had to call for a cab, just to get to work. Boy this was going to be a terrible day and it wasn't even eight o'clock yet.

She was suppose to get the store opened and ready for business by eight and it was seven-forty-five now, she thought to herself that she wasn't going to make it. She was ready to open the door when she remembered that she had forgotten to bring the petty cash from home, Boy what a day, the first costumer was going to have the correct change or she would probably lose a sale. She looked into her purse and found enough to make change for up to twenty dollars, she was hoping that would be enough to start.

What had gone wrong for this day to start off like this? The rest of the day she worked hard, and had one problem after another. At three o'clock when her hired help showed up she was ready for bed. She was as tired as she

had ever been.

Her hired help who's name was Angel, clocked in and went to the counter, she over heard what she was saying to herself. Angel was praying, her prayer was like this; Lord help me to make it through this day and give me peace of mind so I may conduct today with the utmost care possible. Thank you Lord for your help. That's

what happened to her, she forgot to pray last night. She had been so busy with all the new ordering she had to do she forgot to pray to her Lord. She knelt down right there behind the counter and ask for God to forgive her, for her neglect, and, to reinstate her in his word.

She finished her prayer and went on home. When the cab let her out in front of her house, she thought she would try to start her car, it started right up. Then she went into the house and washed her face, in hot water, the tank was working, And her alarm clock was working again too. She had caused all this trouble herself, when she forgot to pray.
