Montreal Sabbats

Beltaine 2008

We know of the following open Beltaine events taking place in Montreal for 2008.

Please note that we post rituals as we hear of them. Sometimes dates change or get cancelled. We recommend checking back on this site, or with the group putting on the ritual, a few days before a ritual to make sure it is still taking place. If you would like to post an event, remove an event, or give us a correction to an event, please email us. We endeavour to check email once every week or two.

As posted on the Montreal Pagan Community E-List
Public Beltain Ritual
Led by Black Forest's Northern Cougars Clan and Coven
Formal Euro-Celtic Traditional Wiccan Ritual
Please wear robes if possible (and be aware you will be jumping a small bonfire)
Please bring Beltain related feast to share and your feast gear (a cup is needed within the ritual)
Sunday, April 27 at 1pm

-------------------------------

The mandate of Montreal Sabbats is to help coordinate public Sabbat rituals in Montreal by empowering other groups from various different traditions to perform and also performing the public rituals themselves when no other group stepped forward to lead.

Since the public Samhain Ritual held at Sala Rosa in 2006, Montreal Sabbats has been without a coordinator and hence on hiatus.

Even though Montreal Sabbats is currently inactive, public Pagan celebrations in the city can (and will) continue, so long as someone steps up and makes it happen. Fortunately, groups wishing to hold a public ritual still have some resources available to them. Le Mélange Magique has recently re-opened its upstairs space for public ritual for under 30 people; and the Montreal Pagan Resource Centre (MPRC) has offered help with networking and publicity (jdhobbes(at)yahoo.ca). In the warm summer weather, outside is also an attractive option for public ritual.

If you would like to get involved to resurrect Montreal Sabbats, email us at: montreal_sabbats(at)@yahoo(dot)ca
