We're an intercultural Italo-Canadian/Japanese couple. In 1995 we bought this stone cottage farmhouse in Southern Portugal. With it's little olive grove it had been called by locals the "Charola".
We're interested in the farming lifestyles of Mediterranean cultures especially the food culture with its emphasis on "poor"
ingredients such as olive oil, herbs and bread and so on..
Naoko, my wife, loves returning everything to the earth, being respectful of all things, principles she tries to put in practice for instance composting and making soap at home.. Her hobbies include baking and ballet... I am most happy contemplating nature from our  hill feeling oneness with creation which on good weather days is superb at the Charola.. I enjoy DXing and birdwatching and planning hiking excursions... I also like cooking and appreciating the delights of wine with a good meal...
