SUNDAY SERMON

Sunday morning words stir up memories of long ago
I go back to a time of innocence, faith and hope
Back when life was simple and carefree
Before I had to learn to adjust, accept and cope
All I needed was summed up in a few words
Jesus loves me, this I know
Years have passed, life has happened
Sometimes I've fallen as I struggle to grow
Three words touched my soul, held on tight
I rejoice for He has accepted me as I am
I remember how He gave up all for me
And reflect on my home waiting in Heaven
I cling to the innocence of the Christ child
I bow my head in remembrance of the cross
With hope, I look for His return
Without Him, my life would be a loss
A simple child's song is the underlying truth
His love is real, a gift to any who choose
I pause to remember and ponder the words
I know with Him on my side, I cannot lose
