P O E T R Y
SERPENTS AND DOVES
Who would have thought that someone so sweet
Could have committed this crime
Considering the consequences at no time
You slipped in leaving me incomplete
The innocence in your eyes hid the cunning in your heart
How can you know what you have done
If I were wise, I would have turned and run
I fear this may tear me apart
My greatest fear is being alone
But the serpent inside made way for the dove
I lost my heart, gave you my love
And in return you gave me your own
