FALLEN CITY

Emerald City has fallen
The gate is blocked and barred
The dream has been shattered
We have been wounded and scarred
Fighting for what we believe
Standing up for our own rights
But when we can't agree
The negotiations become fights
We're standing at the edge of oblivion
Disaster stares us in the face
Do we have the courage to go on
Are we strong though to finish the race
We don't need more, bigger, better prisons
To capture those who disagree with what we say
We need better justice, blind to color, race or creed
We can't let hatred and prejudice have their way
Is all hope lost for us
Will we bow out of the dance
Or as we pause on the brink of disaster
Can we have just one more chance
