Buchanan Tartan
The Closest Thing to a Biography that I am going to write.
I am a Texan, and a Scot from both sides of the family; not to mention a judicious mixture of Irish and American Indian blood. I am a reader, and a lover of literature; a poet, and a lover of poetry. On my paternal side I spring from a sept of the Clan Buchanan, who originated near Loch Lamond, and cemented their place in Scottish society by backing Robert, the Bruce in his bid for the throne.
My maternal family is a sept of the Clan MacQuarrie, whose holdings were on the Isle of Mull. I am quite proud of my Scottish ancestry, and if a fiery temper and a rovers heart count, then I suppose the blood runs true.
I have read and traveled extensively, although most of my travel has been within the continental United States, and all of my travel abroad has been to the Pacific, or Mexico. I have been a soldier, a cowboy, and a lot of other things in my life; but mostly I've been a reader of books, and a dreamer of dreams.
While I have written on a wide variety of subjects, the Traveler has been far and away my favorite subject. I suppose he will live on as long as I do, and hope that he will exist in the minds and hearts of my readers long after I am gone.
