March 2007 Recipe 

Meatloaf
Ingredients:

  • 2lbs lean ground beef

  • 1c rolled oats

  • 1/2 c chopped onions (fine)

  • 1/4 c chopped green peppers

  • 2T steak sauce

  • 1/2 t garlic powder

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1/2 c catsup

  • 1/2 t salt

  • 1/2 t basil

  • 1t black pepper
    Sauce

  • 1/2 c catsup

  • 3T packed brown sugar

  • 1t ground mustard

 


Preparation: 
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Grease 8 1/2" loaf pan (oops, forgot to do that)

  • In large bowl, combine ground beef and eggs

  • Add and mix in oats, onion, green pepper, catsup, steak sauce, black pepper, salt, basil and garlic powder 

  • Transfer to loaf pan and smooth top

  • In small bowl, whisk catsup, brown sugar and mustard

  • Then spread over meatloaf

  • Bake for 1hr 15min to 1hr 30min--Inside should reach 160 degrees

  • Let meat sit 10 minutes before slicing
