MOMS Offering Moms Support®
Because we care about the community that we are raising our children in, the MOMS Club® performs service projects throughout the year to help make our community a better place to live!
In the past, the MOMS Club® has donated time and money to many childrens and women's charities in the Austin area, including Safe Place, the Williamson County Crisis Center, Operation Blue Santa, the Storehouse of Pflugerville, Heart House Austin, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. .
Service Projects for 2007/2008:
1. We signed a contract with the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department to adopt a trail close to the small playground next to Gilleland Pool. We schedule a trail pick-up every other month.
2. We collected items for Any Baby Can, Safeplace and Operation Blue Santa.
3. We plan on visiting the residents of Heatherwilde Assisted Living Center multiple times in the next few months.
4. We are collecting Boxtops for Education and Labels for Education for a local school.
The MOMS Club® of Pflugerville, TX - NW (as part of MOMS Club® of Pflugerville, prior to our sistering in 2006) has donated time and money to many children's and women's charities in the Austin area and around the nation, including:
Family Connections Resource Center is a community resource center for parents, child care providers, and everyone who works with young children. Our mission is to improve the quality of early education and care for our community's children by providing information, education, and resources to those individuals who have the greatest impact on children during the critically important formative years - parents, caregivers, teachers, and community leaders.
Safe Place is dedicated to ending sexual and domestic violence and abuse. SafePlace helps those hurt by this violence to heal and empower themselves so that women, children, and men may lead safe and healthy lives
Mother's Milk Bank at Austin provides much needed milk to babies in neonatal intensive care units and several special care nurseries in the Austin area, as well as infants with a medical need throughout Texas and beyond.
Heatherwilde Assisted Living Center helps to provide loving care for the elderly in our community.
