Lonely Spirit

You seem to walk alone,
In city streets of your life,
A stranger to the world,
But no stranger to strife.

Walking through the shadows of endless thoughts,
The views of the world,
You reflect what they taught.

In a pattern you have seen,
The many tragic stories,
Purposely they made mistakes,
That have added to your worries.

Amazed by all that has been,
You stand below the starry night,
With ideas and with hopes,
To think of words that would be right.

Feeling so alone,
This spirit,
Has anyone known?
Who would pray for this lonely stranger?
Singled out with compassion,
Is their life what is in danger?

Lonely Spirit,
Every night you pray for peace,
I hear its constant echo,
It never sleeps.

With that, the world's prayers made a circle,
Of a thousand thoughts,
With your hope,
You tied the knots.
When that was all you knew,
It might have reached a spirit,
A lonely stranger like you.
