God

Wherever my thoughts take me,
In any part of the world,
If I believe, there is much more than what meets the eye,
I think it will be shown.

There is one thing that is common,
In any time or place,
In the streets,
The hospitals,
And houses,
From all walks of life,
And all forms of life.

It is something I see in so many things,
Often when it's simply giving gratitude,
Just from being alive,
And even when sickness comes.

In the hospital,
I saw God in the little boy that was a cancer victim with the will to fight to live,
And he was so strong with hope, the grace to touch others.

I saw God in his parents love.

I saw God in the ones that are willing to learn and gain understanding, staying open-minded,
Even if the people around them look down on them.

As I walked through the streets,
And through the city,
The people's artwork stood out,
I saw God through divine works of art,
So beautiful I couldn't explain,
Some even made from people very young.

I saw God in the way children will walk up to strangers to start a conversation, so openly,
Not thinking of any judgments.

From the most common and precious things,
I saw God in the little girl that looked up to her mother and said, "I love you" so sincerely with a smile on her face.

And uncommon,
And unique,
I saw God in a man with unwavering love and the wisdom and truth to love so many,
And all that he would learn through it faithfully.

At times when I thought I was lost,
And no one cared,
Circumstances showed me I wasn't alone,
I saw God in the face of a little boy that prayed for peace,
When the adults around him he knew didn't care.

I pictured God in the faces of his pets and other's on their journey to heaven,
And the peace in their eyes were present.

I also saw God in the children that wanted to help clean up the pollution of the earth, so that others could live,
To enjoy life and live as they were.

I saw God in the soft blue sky and the golden fields,
In the brilliant sunset, and the galaxy that seemed to never end.

I saw that it was both of our treasures.

And most noticeably,
I saw God in the way certain things work out, when you or I wasn't expecting it.

Your imagination may actually become what's real,
Because it turns into hope,
And then can show what faith can come to be.
