Mixed Metro Pool League
CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS
Adopted 1999

As a player or club member of the Mixed Metro Pool League, you are an ambassador of the sport of billiards. Your demeanor, both in nightly league play and league tournament competition, affects the image of your sport. The Board of Directors may warn, suspend, or remove any player or club members who are determined to be in violation. Please read your copy of the Code of Conduct & Ethics and know your responsibilities.

Dress Code:
Although there are no formal dress requirements in the league, players are asked to respect the fact that potential sponsors of our sport - whether to leagues, associations, clubs, or individuals - may be looking at us as an example, and so dress accordingly.

Conduct:
1. Player and club members of the league will be responsible for following the rules and regulations as set forth by the Constitution & Bylaws and Code of Conduct & Ethics, and any other regulations imposed by the Board of Directors for league competition.
2. As a player member of the league, you are being watched by others as a representative of the league. Therefore, during league competition - nightly play, tournament events, or the banquet - you must avoid behavior that would discredit your fellow player members, your club, the league, or the sport. Actions requiring disciplinary action include: abusive language; profanity; public abuse of equipment; public arguments with fellow members, whether physical or verbal; and noncompliance with any part of the Code of Conduct & Ethics.
3. The Board of Directors may penalize any player or club member abusing the rules and regulations of the league at their discretion at any meeting. Player and club members are advised to comply with all parts of the Code of Conduct & Ethics.

Financial Obligations:
1. Player members are expected to meet all financial obligations promptly (ie. league dues, tournament fees, etc.). The league requires that all teams meet their financial obligations on dates determined at the start of any season by the Board of Directors. Teams are responsible for the collection of dues and bond money from their individual player members. Offending player members may be subject to possible suspension from future league play until their obligations are met in a manner satisfactory to the Board of Directors. Financial obligations outstanding to other metro teams, whether from the Metro Pool League or the Ladies Metro Pool League, shall also prevent players from playing in the Mixed Metro Pool League until the financial obligation is dealt with in a manner suitable to the Board of Directors.
2. Teams are responsible, in the event of a guaranteed entry fee tournament, to comply with payment of the entry fees if there are no-shows at the guaranteed event.

Penalties:
The league may warn, suspend, or remove a player or club member from the league with the approval of the Board of Directors. Warnings shall be provided in writing to the offender. Suspensions may range from one night of league play, to one year from the date of the offense (at which time the current Board of Directors would review the case), to a lifetime ban, if it is determined by the Board of Directors that there is sufficient cause to effect such a penalty.
