Note:  This entry was composed on August 4th, not August 2nd.
And Pictures will be added as soon as I load them all up on my computer!

Today we left really early to get over to the NASA pavilion area because it was presentation day for the NASA Revolutionary Design Competition.  The VT/Loughborough University Team I was on this year had won first place (official competition announcement, VT announcement, EAA announcement).  Presentations went in reverse order, so we had to set through 5 presentations other than ours before we could go out in our own directions.  For winning, though, NASA gave us all this cool stuff, like 2 books about all civilian and military aircraft designs that NASA has contributed to in the past.  They also gave us boxed lunches!  :)

After that, we were free to roam about for a while before we had to meet at this Electric Aircraft tent to have another presentation.  Here, NASA gave us nifty little chairs and the electric aircraft people gave us digital multimeters.  This NASA publicist was there too and took a bunch of group pictures of us and the electric aircraft they had on display.

Then, we walked to the van to drop off all the free stuff we'd all accumulated during the day and then were free again for the rest of the day until 6pm to explore the air show as we pleased.  I walked around with Amy for a while and then we met up with Dustin after he finished his radio interview.

Then we went over and watched the airshow again.  :)  Today was ever better than the previous day.  I forgot to mention yesterday about the Harrier jet they had displayed.  It did the vertical take-off and landing and also went from 60knots (I think.. though Its probably much faster) to zero in less than 60seconds.  After it came to a stop in mid-air it even started drifting backwards.  EXTREMELY cool.  This jet was displayed both days we were there.  Today they also had this old WWII plane that someone installed a jet engine on... so it was flying around real fast and stuff and it was SOOO loud.  then all of a sudden, some guy climbed out onto the wing and started doing all those nifty tricks that the 'wingwalkers' do.

Also today they had a warbird demonstrations, including mock bombings and big flaming bursts off the ground to show the explosions!  :)  hehe.. planes and fire right in front of me! Anyway, I could go on forever about all these planes they had flying...

The Warbirds demonstration meant lots of explosions!

After we got back to the vans we went to the dorms again to freshen up and went to this little restaurant a few minutes away... they had all kinds of food... pizza was the big seller though.  After dinner tonight, we went to the Student Union to hang out... they have a small bar there so those of age partook and we all hung out, playing pool and talking and all.

Some of us went back to the dorm after the student union closed up for the night, but others went on to the sports bar again.  I finished packing up a bit and went to sleep.
