July 5, 2003 next day's entry
Note:  This entry was composed on July 7, not July 5.

Saturday morning, we slept until noonish and then piled in Mike's car and drove to the beach again.  Traffic was a lot better this time than on Saturday!

Anyway, we picked up food and sat down on the beach and ate.  Then we played around in the ocean.  KK ('girlfriend' of Mike from VT) showed up and so he hung out with her.  The rest of us went on back to Charles' apartment and showered around 6.  Then we went to Wendy's and picked up dinner.

After Mike and KK came back to the apartment, we all piled in my car and drove back to the beach to go to Peabody's.  I was driving the Grand Prix which is a large vehicle, but it still was quite crowded, I'm sure, with Charles, Devin, Nick, Mike, and KK riding as well.  The drive into the beach wasn't bad... it just took an insane amount of time to find parking.

Finally, we found a spot about 10 blocks away from where the club we were going to was located and just walked there.  I had just left everything back in the car except for a little cash.  However, when we finally got up to Peabody's and I didn't have an ID, they wouldn't let me in even though I said I was underage and wasn't going to be drinking.  So, Charles was nice enough to walk back to the car with me while I got my ID.

So everybody just hung out there at Peabody's and they all drank... KK made me go out and dance... I enjoyed watching people... I did feel REALLY young at this club though... I mean, I don't feel young around other college people, but a lot of people in this club were clearly older than 30, some even looked as if they could have children close to my age.  The guys were funny trying to go dance with girls out on the dance floor.

They all got pretty drunk while we were there and the drive home was at least entertaining.  I had a nice conversation with Charles, who had shotgun on this commute home, but got distracted and missed our exit.... anyway, we turned around and got back on track... if anything it gave them all time to sober up a little bit before getting back to Newport News.

Everyone seemed pretty tired Saturday night, so we didn't hang out for that long.  After Mike and KK left, Devin went to bed and Charles, Nick, and I tried watching tv.  Actually, we were going to try and keep 'tradition' going and watch a horror movie like we normally do when we're hanging out at Mike's house, but couldn't find one.  Anyway, the tv was too loud and was keeping Devin awake, so we just went on to bed after that.
