Hours at the Lab:  8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Most of today was spent setting up the 'breadboard' for testing our first set of chips.  The 'breadboard' is the device that the circuitry is connected to.  However, the chips we're testing, at least at first, were designed by a junior at UMD (our undergraduate fellow who's been helping us out most of this week), so its not completely designed with the user in mind.  So we spent a lot of time trying to figure out the logic of how things should be wired in order for the voltages to go where we want them and to get the parts of the circuit grounded that we want.

Anyway, so here's how it turned out by the end of the day (it doesn't look like it should take that long, but we didn't start until the second half of the day and even then had to restart several times before we got it the way it needed to be):

After work, we had a RISE picnic.  Most of the time I was there I was playing volleyball... let me tell you, I was pretty dirty by the time everyone was leaving, between diving in the sand and sweating from the heat/humidity.

I took some pictures on campus on my walk back to my apt after the picnic though... so here we go.

And this is my apartment building...

And My room!  :)
