June 3, 2003 next day's entry
Today was much less eventful. I headed in to 'work' at 10 am this morning. Most of our day today was spent learning how to work with GPIB's (General Purpose Interface Bus). We had lunch again at the same place (which is going to get pretty old pretty quickly).

After lunch I stopped by the Transportation Services dept. again because they had left me voice mail yesterday morning. Turns out they had given me the incorrect parking permit and just wanted me to switch the one I had hanging in the window.

Well, we worked some more with the GPIB's and then we went to our first weekly large group meeting. Everyone who works in my lab is supposed to come. This time is used for catching everyone up on pressing matters and information that we all need to know (such as upcoming meetings). Also in these weekly meetings, Pamela (the advisor) has one person present a 'talk' on something related in some way to projects going on in the lab. Today, the girl gave a talk on translinear circuits that just went COMPLETELY over my head. I understood what some things she referred to were, but I don't have any idea of how they correlate to one another and effect each other's performance (but again, that's why I'm just a rising sophomore Aerospace Engineering Student and not a 2nd year Electrical Engineering Masters degree student).

After the meeting, we left the lab since we don't really have much we could do that wouldn't take an enormous chunk of time to do (it was getting on to be about 5:30). Since it was raining out, I decided to give the other two girls a ride to their apartments before I went out to the bank to get some money (that parking pass I bought did me in on cash). After I left the bank, I made a wrong turn and I ended up driving around for about an hour before I made it back to the parking garage. Plus the 15-20 minute trek from there across campus to my apt, it was about 7 pm by the time I made it back here. From now on, I hope to keep a log here also of my hours just so I can keep track of them. So yesterday, I went into the RISE office at 10 am and left the lab around 5 pm. Today, I was at the lab at 10 am and left around 5:30 pm.
